Yikes, Blogger!  What did you do since I last wrote here?  I can't find anything!  It's as if someone came in and moved my furniture around.  Where is my sidebar?  Where are my options?  And I thought I was dropping in to open the windows, brush away some cobwebs, spruce the place up a bit, you know... And now I'm wasting precious time trying to find my "stuff".  First Facebook lets everyone see what news articles I read (honestly, it feels as if someone has walked in on me in the bathroom), now Blogger hides my "stuff".  It's enough to make me crawl back under my rock and hide or move over to wordpress or squarespace, but that would mean I am actually paying more attention over here.  Now, since I'm here, I'll share a few crazy things that have been rocking my world these last few weeks.

First of all, I dropped, and broke, my camera, my little Canon point and shoot and, shoot, I have missed it more than I thought I would.  My Big Girl camera is heavy and hard on my neck and back and so I tend to not take it along in the same way and the camera in my phone is...well...not my point and shoot.  And speaking of shoot, before it broke I discovered the first mint shoots up in my garden

and a stupendous beetle.

I had breakfast with Marge

and Homer

coached on how to blow bubblegum bubbles.

I scored some soccer shoes

hung out with a moose

despaired about graffiti on our school - spelling, anyone?

I have taken exquisite care of myself, said good-bye to the brother of a dear friend, and to the dog of another dear friend (f*ck you, cancer).  I have felt a little prickly

had a hissy fit or two

washed my hair

and spied on the neighbours.

I ordered two bathing suits online and found they both fit - or fit as well as any bathing suit will on this morphing menopausal body (alas, no photos).   I have purged clutter and paid my taxes, laughed one-sixteenth of the way around the block

slowed down

made peace, if not friends with the bandits

and taken a giant leap into the future, with one big toe still back "here" on the ground.
I have committed to two adventures these next two weekends which will find me travelling near and far(ther).
I have been absent, present and changing faster than a chameleon could accommodate his own cammoflage.  And it's all been good and overdue and necessary.

The loss of a camera is horrific. Maybe you can watch for a sale or permanently borrow one from someone. Glad to see you back!

Oh I missed you so much! But I had the feeling important transformations were taking place....I laughed so much at the hissy fit photo and the spying on neighbours. Did you take those pictures? Even if you managed to find them somewhere else you are a genius!
Have a great weekend, keep laughing and see you soon (I wish!)
love Kate x

Such a creative and humorous use of animal imagery! Altho the bear ones gave me pause…
If your camera can’t be fixed, I don’t care how you do it (sell your soul?) – buy a new one! Your photographic talent keeps you connected to the world in so many wonderful ways.
And in case you “teeter” with that leap forward but with one toe still back, keep in mind you always have a safety net – your own strength - and friends.

I don't know if anyone actually comes back here to read responses to their comments - usually I try to answer you each back with my own comment to your post. I broke my camera on my way to Breakfast with the Bears at the Ecomuseum, where I took all of these animal photos. I was going to take my point and shoot and my Big Girl Camera with the magnificent zoom lens, so I ended up just taking my camera with the zoom. The photo of the lynx I loved, he/she was really looking out of a hole in her enclosure at the coyote on the other side who was getting fed. It was hilarious! And the hissy fit is largely how I have felt. Many things stirring the pot for change and as hard as they are I am welcoming them.

I'm so glad I decided to come back and read the posts/comments...I always try to but don't always manage it! I was wondering about the Bears! You must have a camera. It is so much a part of you. Maybe the one you want will go on sale so that the store pays you to take it home. Maybe I should do camera therapy with you. I smell a bargain 10 miles away!

Ah, the joys of a decent point and shoot. I was devastated when my little'un got hold of mine...but I have a new one and need to get back into the habit of carrying it around. I read this blog, had a giggle, thought I'd leave a comment before reading on. I'm new to blogger if not the blogging world and am enjoying finding my way around x

Oh dear soul sister :) I am giddy knowing of your upcoming adventures and take pleasure (perverse?) in experiencing camaraderie in cursing Blogger (which keeps telling me I've signed out? Ah, but we can now make our pictures x-large which is kinda fun especially since I can't figure much else I CAN do!)

And I hope you will share the bathing suits as that is quite a coup! I am sipping on my dandelion flower essence water, hoping for similar insights and successes!
