I don't know if these legends are true, but apparently lice don't like Eucalyptus oil or rosemary. So, ever since our lice scare a few years ago, I've been putting eucalyptus oil in our shampoo durring the school year for prevention or at least in the colder months because it makes for a nice shower during cold and flu season too. Good luck!
OH GOD....one of the things they don't advertise in NA about how cool all things European are is the prevalence of lice. The kids are teaming with it...that's not totally fair, but EVERY child gets it at least once..
I am itchy just reading about it...and getting paranoid.
I worked in an elementary school for 5 years and I found out an interesting fact from the nurse. Apparently lice cannot jump up. They can only jump down. So just make sure she keeps her head above everyone else's and you're all set. :)
I know it's a shock and a worry but if the 'worst' does happen then remember it can be dealt with fairly easily with lots of hair washing with LOTS of conditioner and then combing and combing and combing. It's not really the worst thing in the world and it happens to most people at least once in their lives. Hugs K xx
I know exactly how you feel, I went through it with my daughter and it was a nightmare, to say the least. Good luck on that! I also wanted to let you know that I have awarded you the Liebster Award. Congratulations, and please stop by my blog to check out the details: http://chevymommasramblings.blogspot.com/2011/11/liebster-award-i-am-so-excited-to-tell.html
Argh! How weird ... my girl came home this week talking about "bugs that live in your head" and from that I surmised there was a lice check at her school. So far, we've escaped that joy! But we all probably have eyebrow lice! Feeling itchy now?

How I managed to avoid that horror with three boys in school for all those years, I do not know.
Don't scratch too hard!
If it's not one thing it's another. Scratch on and good luck to you both.
Oy and a half! Good luck!

Horrors.
Imagine how it feels when the school nurse drops by to tell you it's in your class. It takes everything I have not to scratch all day long!
Oh that's the worst. :(
