{Virtual Coffee}

Hello October, hello Tuesday. If we were meeting for coffee today you would want to make it virtual because I have been really sick. Actually, I was doing well and then had a relapse yesterday which has left me feeling really germy. I realized yesterday that I needed some comfort food and got an iced capp

from Timmy's and it hit the spot. And it was one of the last things I was able to taste before the sinus congestion blasted that small pleasure out of the water.

If we were meeting for coffee today I would tell you that my friend, Cheryl, braved my state of health to meet me for lunch yesterday. Actually, I kind of broadsided her and only told her I was still sick when we met up. I tried to douse myself with tzatziki and extra onions on my falafel but only ended feeling like Pepe Le Pew all afternoon, leaving clouds of eau de greek dining wherever I walked.

If we decided to do the virtual coffee thing I would tell you I am feeling just a little bit soggy after much of this

and this

the past week.

I would share with you that a very special friend, Don Key,

was passing through town this week and we got to spend some quality time together. As I understand it, she likes to remain somewhat anonymous as she does important work in the animal rescue field. I think this works, don't you?

If we were meeting for coffee today I would tell you that in order to keep our sense of humour about the school year, we have started to weigh the nightly homework.

It goes like this, "How many pounds of homework tonight, Riley?" Only ten pounds, not too bad!

If we were meeting for coffee today I would tell you that I keep finding these little videos (mostly of me) that Riley has been taking with my camera or phone. And that the idea of replacing a roll of toilet paper escalated into a full blown scene (mostly by me) this week and I'm thinking I'm going to have to find a creative outlet for this age-old conundrum and if you think this thought has nothing to do the first part of this paragraph, you'll have to stay tuned because I'm brewing a little learning personal project.

If we were meeting for coffee today I would probably kick you out now so I could catch a nap before I pick up Riley from school and encourage you to drop in at Amy's Lucky Number Thirteen as I hear there are lots of birthday cakes floating around over there.

Thankfully, your mom taught you how NOT to share germs! It's the last thing I need or want. Jewish Penicillin, Baba-myacin and chicken soup. All the same but work wonders!

My poor sickly Kimmypoo ! That just sucks ! I hope the relapse part of the cold is quicker than the onset...it is hard to kick it when the grey is so in place. I will do my best to bring some sunshine with me when I head northwards this weekend...

Long distance hugs to you and wishes for a homework weight loss plan for Riley !

p.s. stick your head over a bowl of boiling hot water and apple cider vinegar, your sinuses will sooooo thank you!

Oh, I hope you feel better soon. Nothing is worse than a stuffy nose and the over all yuckies.

HA! Weighing the homework...priceless.

And you have peaked my curiosity ... can't wait to find out what your little learning personal project is...hmmmm.

Have a {better} week and thanks for coffee.

Hi Bodhi! Sorry to hear you're not feeling well-- wishing you a speedy recovery. I always know I am truly sick when I lose my desire for coffee (and then I have tea instead). Your raindrop photos are very pretty. That is too funny that you've taken to weighing the homework!! It's been a big adjustment for my daughter, too (3rd great) with lots more homework this year. I've been feeling quite Eeyore-ish lately, which is why i've been pretty quiet. He is very cute as a stuffed animal, though. Hoping you have a better week! Thanks for coffee!

Oh dear, I'm sorry you're not feeling well! Rest up and take care of yourself. Fill up on juices and tea and good sleep. I'm interested to hear about your project, though. Hopefully you feel better very soon!

I can't believe I missed coffee last Tuesday!!! Where WAS I??? Anyway, I am sorry that you were under the weather and hope that by this Tuesday you are right as rain (and that there is NO MORE rain!).

If you are weighing homework every night then there is TOO MUCH homework. :(

And as for the toilet roll...I hate to be the bearer of "bad news" but it wasn't until my 19 year old went away to college this fall that he FINALLY got the message about changing it instead of just leaving a new roll on the counter by the toilet. Having a roommate who doesn't know you will do that. Whatever your method is for breaking this bad habit, do share!!!
