The last couple of days have had a lot of ups and downs. I always get a little introspective at this time of year, the days which have become noticeably shorter lend themselves to more serious thoughts. I've been reading a lot lately (read: 2 years) on being mindful. Saying practicing mindfulness, bringing your energy into present time and living in the now are basically all the same. If there are nuances they are just that and I am blissfully unaware of them. I am only now discovering that being mindful also means taking time, slowing down and acceptance. Which is different from liking or enjoying where you are and accepting that what is going on is going on. When do you know that any relationship in your life, be it a romantic partner, a friendship, a job, has reached its natural conclusion? When do you know to take it off of life support and let it go, with blessings if at all possible? Go to the light! Go to the light! Maybe it is the influence of autumn but I am feeling the natural end to different aspects in and of my life. Some of it is scary, some of it also feels liberating and both at the same time.

I wish I had "thee" answer, but I don't....
but I do try to follow my gut whenever possible :)
It is interesting the different layers and interpretations there are to presence in the moment...
An aspect of all we have to do, no?
Contemplating change can be unsettling – even frightening. It can also be enlightening and empowering.
As for recognizing natural conclusions, time is a great advisor and companion on that quest. So too is the ability to quietly listen to and follow your heart.
May you find your light...
If there is a secret to "being mindful", I think you discovered that it "also means taking time, slowing down and acceptance. Which is different from liking or enjoying where you are and accepting that what is going on is going on." Know yourself first (there's the old what does your gut/heart say). Wishing you a little light and a little peace.
(Thank you for your card. You understand!)
The change in season is often a reflective time. I've also noticed that as I get older I really do get wiser...because of that "letting go" -- that lack of need to have all the answers immediately. I've learned that there is a peace in being able to say "this is it, this is it right now" to whatever has been on my mind. The answers to all the necessary questions do come...in time!
