Friday Haiku

I've said it before
and I'll say it once again,
I am a bread whore.

Right now I have this:
fresh bagels, flatbreads, half rye
(I'm not quite done yet)

some squishy white bread,
whole grain miche and sandwich style.
That's just the fresh stuff.

I won't dare mention
three or four-week old crumpets
and mini-pitas.

Do tell, there's random
crusts still in their plastic bags
and not yet moldy.

I am a bread whore.
Would you care to join me for
some toast, tea and jam?

A bazillion times better than a crack whore.

I will have a fresh bagel (Visions of bagels dance in my head soemtimes), with a smear of cream cheese and some yummy all fruit jam if you have it.
That is if you are willing to share your stash ?
Happy Friday, Kimmypoo !

NOOOO, tell me about Connie's big class please. And, do you know about the bread book, Flatbreads and Flavours by Nomi Duguid and Jeffery Archer? Cook book, bread around the world, doable! Also Laurel's Kitchen Bread Book? It is all whole wheat, which I alter sometimes, but so much goodness about baking bread. Hmmmm, something else I must get going on.

Oooh I too love bread. I've cut back on carbs but I enjoy a beautiful piece of bread each day. It is from a fabu bakery. If you are going to eat bread, make it really good bread!
