First

First dandelion on my lawn this spring. I really don't mind them as long as they are green, although I pull them because I feel the evil eye from my neighbors. I especially like a bouquet of them with their milky stems, preferably picked by a child. And absolute fields of them from a particular angle when it looks like a blanket of sunshine yellow. One man's weed is another man's miracle.

I love a field of dandelions too. I also love their name - lion's teeth - what a perfect name for their leaves. I used to be sad when a bouquet the children in class gave ne would wilt completely before lunch time. Now I think of it as the flower's defense - "I stay looking fresh if you leave me where I am growing." Not to mention how beaitiful their seeds are as they float off on a breeze later in the season...
Here's to love for all weeds. ;)

Yesterday - neighbours on either side of me digging up their dandelions. Pressure? Nah. I love the colour yellow!

I love them...their sunniness, their steadfastness, their ability to push through the elements. Come to think of it, I need to be one right now.

i love most weeds. I didn't understand what weeds were until my mother in law explained it to me. i always thought they were flowers.

well, we are big dandelion lovers even though the neighbors also loathe them ... thankfully there are many vacant lots where hoards of yellow, then fuzzy white buds gather.

yes, a sign Spring is here. Finally.

love seeing your beautiful pictures ... like visual haikus.

thank you for leaving such thoughtful comments on my blog. I'll have to get some new dandelions up for you :)
