It's 8:00 p.m. and still no luggage. I spent a good part of the day on the phone with US Airways. Half of the people I spoke to denied that there was any "lost" baggage with my reference number (I can see the reference number online myself!), the other half swore up and down the flagpole that they had a trail that puts them in Philadelphia, waiting for room on a plane to get them to my final destination. Half the people on the other end of the phone seemed to go out of their way to help me, even if it meant putting me on hold until I got cauliflower ear. The other half wanted me to thank them for their very existence and for doing me the favor of talking to me at all. I'm getting kind of worried now about my "things". I know I shouldn't be so material, but you know. And there was all that great stuff I bought at Michael's - a bunch of magazines I can't find here and if I ordered them online they would cost an obscene amount in shipping. The Artful Blogger especially is making me pang. I tried to do some work in my studio but felt like I was all thumbs. Just couldn't find the spirit that usually moves me when I step inside. I wish I was ending the day on a happier note. My journals are also in that elusive luggage. I'll be working the next two days so I'll have little time to badger them.
Gack.

Tell me you had a good trip ... please! Missing luggage is no fun. Talking with the airline *help* is definitely a misnomer. Argggghhhh. Tell them you know a dragon .........
What a way to end your holiday - what a bummer! So glad you are back though, I have misssed you!
Your frustrating tale reminds me of the saying, "If there was no such thing as bad luck, I'd have no luck at all."
The possible loss of your journals is the worst!
Hang in there...
Hi There - found your blog from another blog and yet another blog! (really, that's how it happenend - just kept clicking and I ended up here!) Glad I did - your blog is great - however, I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. I used to travel A LOT for my last job and losing luggage is NO PICNIC. If they have a tracking number- they have your luggage - just keep calling and badgering them - keep asking for their supervisor until you get your luggage. It is frustrating - but it sounds like you lost your luggage at the end of your trip - which is better than being on vacay with NOTHING.
Also - and this is a last resort - but you may be able to claim your lost luggage on your insurance (homeowners). It's not as good as getting your things back, but at least you'll get somethng. The airlines - won't give you squat, but your insurance (or perhaps your credit card) will. (I found this out years ago when my luggage went missing)
Anyhoodle - good luck and great blog!
