Always enjoy seeing them... in summer we see Pileated Woodpeckers and the ever-present Red-shafted Flickers. I do not, however, appreciate hearing those flickers tappity-tap on the side of my house!.
OMG OMG OMG! Okay, I am a little excitable these days ... but last friday I took a walk after a long morning spent examining my paintings from Deep and writing about the new insights they provided me and on my walk I saw my first Downy in 3 years! At our old house, we had a regular visitor and for some reason, I always thought of my spiritual teacher whenever he would appear (my teacher said you could measure your spiritual progress by how cheerful you are) ... so downys are confirmation to me that i am on the right path. Then I looked the meaning up in animal-speak: forthcoming changes and this: "It flies in a manner and rhythm unique to itself. All of this serves to emphasize the fact that it will become increasing important for you to follow your own unique rhythms and flight. Do what works for you in the manner best for you. When woodpecker comes into your life, it indicates that the foundation is there. It is now safe to follow your own rhythms."
Thank you for another precious "sighting" of my little friend. Fantastic shot! xo Lis
