The Picture of Persistence

My garden has been not very nice this last month. We have had almost no rain but it's been chilly, especially at night, we are more often than not down to single digits now. I even put the heat on in my art studio yesterday morning, just to take the chill out of the air. And hot baths are welcome, the hotter the better. I noticed this yesterday, which seemed to have bloomed out of nowhere. Lord knows I haven't watered anything in a long time and I thought, how wonderful. And maybe in these days when I've not been feeling too hot emotionally, I could take a page from this pansy's book. Bloom anyway. Bloom one more time, push a little harder to squeeze out the beauty. Stretch without the heat, without the benefit of TLC from my caregiver(s), just bloom dammit.

That lonely little pansy!! But I have to say that beautiful little pansy!! What a breath of fresh air when everything else is going into it's end and going fallow for winter to see this bright purple "face" come popping out. Gives me hope that no matter the conditions, when something wants to "come" it will no matter what we try or try not to do.

great perspective! and one we should all adopt. around here, sometimes i notice grass or a weed or just something green poking up between cracks in the sidewalk even in the middle of summer when it's 110 degrees outside. it always amazes me.

Now you've got it! Bloom dammit!

(Love the pansy. Such happy little faces!)

The pansy is an amazing metaphor for stick-to-it-ness. I agree, sometimes we just need to be tough and grit things out. Thanks for reminding me (sometimes I get tired of even my own whinging about what's not fair).Have a lovely week

We can bloom on our own - everything we need is right there inside us - but we also have to be able to reach for and see the sun.
Friends provide that extra bit of "fertilizer." ;)

A lovely sentiment and one I should take to heart - bloom anyway. OK, I will ...
